ALOHA FROM KONA!
We are a normal Pacific basin family; Nick grew up on Oahu, Hisako in Japanese snow country and Maia is a dual national born in Tokyo. For better or worse we are booming and our infrastructure, roads and utilities probably lag development by 10 years. Even given this, we still live in a place where the community works and we are small enough to have some control over our destiny. Kona is so small that we are really linked together which makes us approach most everyone as friends, neighbors or family. We live in a place where people really do say 'aloha' to each other - it's not just a greeting for tourists. We lack the excitement of the mainland and have really no night life, but our days are very special, so we usually get up quite early not to miss any of it. If you think this might work for you give us a shout.
Maia is currently attending the University of San Francisco,
pursuing a major in graphic design and a minor in sociology.
